Juan Yactayo is a Senior Associate at Perkins & Will, where he oversees various international projects, including large-scale smart city planning, such as Guyana Silica City. He also serves as a lecturer at the University of Miami, where he coordinates the Digital Media curriculum in the graduate program and teaches thesis, computational design, and courses within the Digital Fabrication and Technology track of the Master of Science in Architecture (MSA) program. Juan holds a Master of Architecture from Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Florida’s School of Architecture. His research and teaching focus on computational design, geometry, genetic algorithms, and artificial intelligence (AI). At the University of Miami, Juan bridges practice and academia and aims to support conference fundraising efforts by leveraging his corporate network of potential sponsors.
